Most dog owners view dog cages for cars as an ‘extra’ that is only really necessary if they tend to transport their dog in the car on a frequent basis. Frankly speaking, this couldn’t be further from the truth – and you’ll find that it is often a case of better safe than sorry when it comes to having a dog cage for your car.

Having a Dog Cage and Not Needing It vs. Needing a Dog Cage and Not Having It

At the end of the day, it is always going to be better to have one and not need to use it than it is to not have one and then find yourself suddenly needing it.

Despite the fact that you might practically never take your dog along with you in the car – what if you suddenly need to do so? How about if your dog suddenly seems to have some sort of emergency and you need to rush him or her to the vet?

The fact of the matter is, in emergencies many dog owners find that they actually need dog cages for cars a lot more if they haven’t taken their dog around in a car in the past. That is because the dog won’t be used to the movement of the car and will may become agitated or even panic.

Assuming you have someone to hold your dog still while you drive – great. But what if you don’t and it’s just you? How would you manage then?

As you can see, in situations like the one above it would certainly help if you had a dog cage that you could place in your car to transport your dog. Granted it would be nice if you never find yourself facing that sort of eventuality, but it still wouldn’t hurt to be prepared.

All said and done, it is better to be safe rather than sorry and every dog owner should have a dog cage handy for that exact reason.
